Cardano Transactions Hit 7-Day High Amid $NIGHT Price Surge
Cardano has seen a significant surge in network activity, with daily transactions reaching a seven-day high. According to blockchain analytics platform Chainspect, Cardano processed 33,467 transactions on September 30, 2026, a 43% increase from the previous seven days. This marks the network's highest daily transaction count over the past week.
The increased activity comes as Charles Hoskinson, founder of Cardano, suggested that the native token of Cardano's privacy-focused Midnight network, $NIGHT, could outperform Zcash and see massive growth next year. Following his commentary, $NIGHT trading activity increased, with its price climbing from around $0.028 to $0.040 on September 30. Interestingly, $NIGHT reached the $0.04 area on the same day Cardano's daily transaction count hit its seven-day high.
Cardano's network activity has continued to rise beyond the September 30 peak, with 43,200 daily transactions recorded at the time of writing, representing a further 29% increase over the past 24 hours. The network's average transactions per second (TPS) over the past seven days stands at 0.35, up 10.39% during the period. Additionally, Cardano's decentralized exchanges (DEX) trading volume has increased significantly, with weekly DEX volume surging 87.99% to $32.8 million.
