Cardano Unleashes AI-Powered Payments with x402 Integration

Cardano has become one of the first major blockchain networks to support AI agent payments through its integration with x402, an open HTTP payment standard.

The integration allows applications and autonomous AI agents to pay for online services directly in ADA, Cardano's native cryptocurrency.

This move has sent ADA's price soaring, reaching a four-month high of 4% over the past 24 hours, according to BeInCrypto data.

x402 is an open standard built by Coinbase and later governed by the Linux Foundation. It uses the HTTP 402 'Payment Required' status code as a functional payment handshake for automated transactions.
