Cardano vs Solana: Davis Slams ADA for Weak Network Utilisation

Crypto market commentator Lark Davis has criticized Cardano (ADA) for its weak network utilisation and cited a significant gap in adoption with Solana (SOL).

According to Davis, eight years since its launch is enough time for Cardano to demonstrate stronger user activity. However, he argues that the project has not reached a level comparable to Solana in terms of usage, with a large gap in adoption and network activity.

Davis pointed out that Solana, launched in March 2020, has processed over 126 billion cumulative transactions, while Cardano's cumulative transaction count stands at approximately 124 million. Additionally, Solana leads in DeFi metrics, with a total value locked of $5.8 billion and decentralised exchange trading volume of $2.9 billion.

The Cardano camp cited different priorities as the reason for low adoption, stating that the network chose governance and infrastructure building first, which made its pace of spread relatively slow. However, Davis disagreed with this explanation, saying that technical upgrades have limited meaning if they do not bring in more users and increase network activity.
