Cardano’s ADA Jumps 11% as Bitcoin Struggles Near $87K
Cardano’s ADA token surged approximately 11% over a 24-hour period, reaching around $0.27. This marked its highest level since May, while most other major cryptocurrencies only saw modest gains. Meanwhile, Bitcoin struggled to maintain a position above $87,000, remaining within a tight range of $84,000 to $87,000.
The rally in ADA’s value may be attributed to several factors, including growing interest in Cardano’s RealFi initiatives. A recent product announcement highlighted stablecoin yields of up to 9% for institutional credit, which could be driving enthusiasm. Additionally, the upcoming Dijkstra development phase, expected to launch between late December 2026 and early 2027, might be influencing investor sentiment.
Despite the recent gains, ADA’s performance over the past year remains weak, having dropped 68% in the last 12 months. The latest rebound, though notable, is still relatively small compared to the broader downtrend. Traders are now evaluating whether October’s recovery can reverse the token’s longer-term decline.
Bitcoin, on the other hand, continues to face resistance at the $87,000 mark. Recent attempts to break through this level have been met with rejection, keeping the market in a consolidation phase. Derivatives data indicates that traders are still bullish, with positive funding rates and a strong preference for call options. However, this positioning could lead to increased volatility if Bitcoin tests $87,000 again.
