Cardano's ADA Surges 10% Amid Market Doldrums
Cardano's ADA token is gaining momentum in a relatively flat market, rising 10% in 24 hours to its highest price since May. The token is now trading at over 27 cents, while Bitcoin and Ether have gained only 1% and 0.5% respectively. The surge in ADA's price may be due to the anticipation of Cardano's RealFi institutional-credit product, which allows users to route stablecoins into institutional credit for up to 9% annual yields.
The RealFi product was announced on October 1, and its potential is being closely watched by the market. Additionally, the upcoming Dijkstra scalability upgrade, which will introduce Linear Leios and nested transactions to dramatically boost transaction throughput, may be attracting investors to ADA. However, the exact reason for ADA's outperformance remains unclear.
Meanwhile, Bitcoin remains stuck in its recent $84,000 to $87,000 price range, with leveraged long positions holding firm. Options trading is also heavily tilted toward calls, with a 24-hour put/call ratio of 87/13 in favor of calls.
