Cardano's ADA Token Surges 18% in Wild Week
Cardano's ADA token has been the standout performer among major altcoins over the past week, rising by 18% and briefly pushing above $0.20 for the first time in two months.
This surge comes despite a recent downtrend that saw ADA plummet to a multi-year low of $0.14 in June, but its recovery has been swift, with prices increasing more than 40% since then.
According to analyst Alex Marell, ADA is currently showing one of its strongest structures in months, and if buyers can defend the recent breakout, the token's recovery could continue toward major resistance zones.
Crypto Tony also weighed in on the token's prospects, noting that a rejection at the current range around $0.21-$0.22 could send prices back down to $0.18, but also cautioned that breaking above this level could be a crucial turning point for ADA.
A decisive break above the next major resistance zone of $0.2305 could finally end ADA's prolonged downtrend and send it toward $0.30, according to another analyst.
Cardano whales have been accumulating tokens in large quantities recently, purchasing over 240 million tokens in five days as prices began to recover, which suggests that large market participants took advantage of depressed prices while retail investors remained on the sidelines.
