Cardano's Grim Anniversary: Can October Spark a Reversal?
Cardano's ($ADA) 1-year performance has been dismal, with a 68% decline according to CoinGecko data. This significant drop has been a steady trend from September 2025 to June 2026, with only one green month in April 2026 out of the 10-month period. The price of ADA fell from $0.954 in September 2025 to $0.138 in June 2026, causing it to lose the weekly MA 50 at $0.451. Since July, the price has rebounded, putting ADA on track for its third consecutive month of gains if September closes positively.
Optimism surrounds October, often seen as a positive month for crypto assets. However, Cardano's history suggests otherwise. Out of the eight Octobers since 2018, only two have closed positively for ADA. For a sustained reversal, buyers would need to regain control, with stronger trading volume and higher highs and higher lows indicating improving momentum.
As of now, ADA is down 3.22% in the last 24 hours to $0.247, with crypto bulls taking a breather after a strong rally in the past week. Investors are now focused on a packed macro slate, including PCE inflation, ISM manufacturing, and nonfarm payrolls, which could influence Fed rate-hike bets and the broader market.
