Cardano's Input Output Group (IOG) has warned users to steer clear of its official YouTube channel, following an apparent hijack that aired a manipulated video featuring Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson.

The livestreamed video, which ran for nearly two hours on Friday, purportedly promoted a town hall meeting for Project Catalyst, a decentralized community innovation fund and grant program. However, it quickly became clear that the content was not genuine, with Hoskinson's image used to direct viewers to a QR code promising to 'double your wealth'.

IOG has urged users to avoid interacting with the channel until further notice, advising against clicking links, sending funds or sharing personal information in response to any suspicious content.
