Cardano's Nine-Year Price Battle Enters Pivotal Stage
Cardano's ADA has been in a long-term price compression cycle for nearly nine years, but analysts are now watching closely for signs of a potential breakout.
The token's trading range has tightened over this period, with ADA repeatedly bouncing along a rising macro support line and facing a stubborn ceiling above it.
Market commentator Van Tassel pointed out that the compression pattern is approaching its long-term meeting point, where the rising floor and falling ceiling converge. He divides the pattern into four major chapters: explosive expansion (2018-2021), relentless compression (2021-2026), a failed breakout above resistance in 2025, and support holding as ADA made another run at resistance.
Van Tassel sees the current setup as significant, but notes that he is not calling victory yet. He requires confirmation through a weekly close above resistance followed by a successful retest to confirm that the former ceiling has turned into a new floor.
The analyst also highlights increased trading activity in ADA as it approaches the critical end of its long-term pattern, with a volume indicator showing roughly $307 million in market participation.
