Cardano's US Dollar Tokens Set to Launch on Mainnet
On October 1, 2026, Cardano's mainnet will welcome two new tokens: USDr and sUSDr. USDr tracks the US dollar, while sUSDr is a yield-bearing token created when you deposit USDr into the RealFi protocol.
The launch of these tokens is expected to boost capital on Cardano, with Charles Hoskinson predicting an increase in the network's capital. However, the exact amount is not specified.
RealFi, backed by Input Output Global, aims to channel blockchain capital into traditional bond and credit markets. The platform has been testing its protocol since July 6, 2026, with over 3,600 users participating in the Pioneer Season and completing more than 40,000 tasks.
