Cardano's recent Van Rossem hard fork has triggered significant buying activity among 'whales,' as ADA enters the Dijkstra era, a major development phase for the network.

The Van Rossem upgrade, which went live on July 19, upgraded Cardano's protocol version to 11, introducing more scalable and cost-efficient smart contracts, along with enhanced node security.

This marks the beginning of the Dijkstra era, during which three key upgrades will be rolled out: Peras, Ouroboros Leios, and Nested Transactions. These upgrades aim to improve resource management, transaction settlement, and scalability on the network.

The Van Rossem hard fork has attracted whale buyers, who have purchased 240 million ADA tokens over the past five days, according to Santiment data. This accumulation has helped ADA recover from its July lows, with the price currently trading at $0.1921, up 22.8% and 5.6% over the past week and month, respectively.
