Cardano's YouTube Channel Hacked: Users Warned Against Interacting with Scam Links

Cardano's YouTube channel has been hacked, compromising its integrity and potentially putting users at risk of scams. Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, issued a warning on September 18 via X, stating that IOG's YouTube appears to have been compromised.

The team is working with YouTube to remove the content and reset credentials, advising users not to trust videos or click on links that appeared on the channel. A livestream featuring an AI-manipulated version of Hoskinson promoting a cryptocurrency giveaway was reportedly broadcast by the compromised channel.

The scam format, which involves claiming viewers could 'double' their cryptocurrency holdings, is specifically identified as a scam format by Cardano's own security guidelines. Users are cautioned against sending money, clicking links, or divulging personal information until channel control is restored.
