Carter Rejects WLFI Advisory Role Over Lack of Product Maturity

Share

Nic Carter, a well-known crypto venture capitalist and analyst, was approached by World Liberty Financial (WLFI) in 2024 to take on an advisory role. However, his conversation with Steve Witkoff, co-founder of WLFI, did not go well.

Carter stated that Witkoff appeared unfamiliar with basic crypto and DeFi concepts, saying 'He didn't know what crypto or DeFi was. He didn't know what the pitch was.' Carter realized that WLFI had no real product, only a token sale.

WLFI launched in September 2024 as a decentralized finance platform, with private token sales starting in October 2024 at $0.015 per token. The Trump family and affiliated entities are set to receive 75% of net proceeds from these sales.

Carter's reservations about WLFI are notable because he has publicly supported the Trump family. He declined the advisory role, citing a lack of product maturity.
