CFTC Digs Heels In on Perpetual Contract Approval
The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has filed a motion to dismiss CME's motion regarding the perpetual contract lawsuit.
CME had planned to sue the CFTC for approving Kalshi to offer Bitcoin perpetual contracts, but the CFTC argues that CME lacks legal standing in this case.
The CFTC claims that since CME itself can launch perpetual contracts, any alleged harm is actually self-inflicted.
