CFTC: Non-Commercial Traders Hold Net Long Bitcoin Position
The CFTC's latest report on Bitcoin futures shows that non-commercial traders held a net long position of 2,756 contracts for the week of September 22nd. This represents a growth of 288 contracts from the previous week.
Total open interest rose by 1,542 to 22,315 contracts. Non-commercial traders accounted for the majority of this increase, with commercial traders holding a net short position of 3,109 contracts.
This net long position is equivalent to 13,780 BTC in contract units. The CFTC classifies traders by their reported predominant business purpose but notes that it does not know each trader's reason for a position.
