CFTC Updates Guidance on Tokenized Assets Amid Failed Crypto Regulation Bill
The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has updated its guidance on tokenized assets and blockchain recordkeeping.
According to a Thursday notice, the CFTC has revised its frequently asked questions on registered crypto-related entities.
The guidance now specifies that authorized companies can invest customer funds in tokenized forms, provided the token grants the same or functionally equivalent rights as traditional assets.
CFTC Chair Michael Selig said this move is part of efforts to provide regulatory clarity for the crypto industry.
