Chainalysis Challenges $94 Million Blockchain Intelligence Contract

Share

Chainalysis is suing the US government over a disputed contract worth $94.6 million for blockchain intelligence services.

The company claims Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) bypassed normal competitive bidding procedures to award an exclusive contract directly to rival TRM Labs.

According to Chainalysis, it had submitted a capability statement in response to ICE's notice of intent to source the technology from TRM, arguing it should have been considered as a competing bidder rather than bypassed entirely.

The dispute highlights the growing dependence on a small group of vendors capable of providing blockchain intelligence at the scale and certification level federal agencies require.
