Chainalysis Sues DHS Over Exclusive Contract Awarded to TRM Labs

Share

Chainalysis is contesting a contract awarded to TRM Labs by the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The US-based blockchain analytics firm alleges that standard procurement procedures were bypassed in favor of its competitor.

The case, filed in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, claims that DHS and ICE handed an exclusive contract directly to TRM without putting it up for competition. Chainalysis is seeking a halt on the arrangement and a rebidding process instead.

TRM Labs has filed as an intervenor-defendant to defend the contract award, indicating its significant stake in the outcome. The court has set a compressed briefing schedule with oral arguments scheduled for September 2 and a ruling requested by September 10.
