Chainlink Deploys CCIP 2.0 Amid Institutional Adoption Push

Chainlink has deployed its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) 2.0, which gives token issuers more control over multi-chain asset distribution.

The upgrade introduces advanced architectural mechanisms that allow issuers to mandate additional Cross-Chain Verifiers (CCVs), alongside the network's default Committee Verifier.

According to reporting by 99Bitcoins, this new verification layer enhances issuer security and compliance capabilities, but also introduces potential operational bottlenecks.

If an issuer-operated or third-party CCV fails to respond or becomes unresponsive, dependent cross-chain transfers can stall indefinitely, leaving assets in a pending state between networks.
