Chainlink Outpaces Ethereum in Tokenization Growth
Both Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) and Chainlink (CRYPTO: LINK) are benefiting from the growing trend of tokenization, but which one will capture more market share? As of 2026, Chainlink's price has risen by 7%, while Ethereum's price has declined. Tokenized assets on public blockchains are valued at around $31 billion, with over half that value held by Ethereum.
Ethereum serves as a settlement layer for tokenized assets like bonds and funds, recording ownership transfers in its shared ledger. Chainlink, on the other hand, operates an oracle network that brings external data onto blockchain applications, including prices and interest rates.
As demand for tokenization grows, Chainlink's role expands, particularly as BlackRock's BUIDL tokenized money market fund holds about $2.8 billion across eight blockchains. Chainlink facilitates interactions between these ledgers, while Ethereum retains the largest volume of assets.
Chainlink has significant partnerships with companies like Swift, which has tested connections with Chainlink and several major institutions since 2023. These tests have demonstrated the compatibility of Swift's network with various blockchain systems, but a formal fee structure for these projects has yet to be published.
