Chainlink Powers Blockchain Payments for 600+ Banks Through Bottomline's Global Pay Connect
Chainlink has made significant strides in its push into institutional financial infrastructure through a partnership with Bottomline. The company's new Global Pay Connect platform, launched on September 17, uses Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) and Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE) to connect more than 600 bank customers with blockchain payment networks.
The integration allows banks to connect blockchain settlement to existing payment operations without replacing their current infrastructure. This approach enables value and data to move between blockchain networks while maintaining familiar payment systems and messaging standards.
Bottomline, one of the top Swift service providers, processes more than $16 trillion in payments annually and serves over 600 banking customers through its Swift connectivity business. The Chainlink integration gives CCIP and CRE exposure to a large existing financial network, expanding Chainlink's role in institutional payments.
