Chainlink Price Soars, But Small Investors Take Profits
Chainlink (LINK) has seen its highest price level of 2026 so far at $14.89, after falling below $7 in June. This rebound comes as a result of strong growth, and some small investors appear to be taking profits on the altcoin.
Data from Santiment shows that despite the price increase, the number of Chainlink wallets with balances above zero has dropped to 912,020. While this decrease could indicate profit-taking, Santiment notes that it is not a negative indicator in itself.
The exit of some individual investors from the market while the price was rising may have meant that stronger investors bought up the LINK being sold, rather than a decline in interest or confidence in the project.
Chainlink's total investor base remains near its all-time highs after steady growth throughout 2026. The project has also seen significant developments in its technical infrastructure, including the release of CCIP 2.0, which provides applications with greater control over cross-chain security mechanisms.
