Chainlink Rockets Past $15 as CCIP 2.0 Ignites Interoperability Upgrade
Chainlink's price surged to its highest level in 2026, climbing 12% over the past 24 hours and putting it up 26% year-to-date. This sharp recovery comes after the network launched its upgraded Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) 2.0 on Monday.
The upgrade allows users to run their own Cross-Chain Verifiers, adding independent layers of verification to a transfer. It also opens a marketplace where third parties can offer specialized verification services for a fee. Chainlink said that starter kits are available for Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud.
This move has given LINK an edge over other major cryptocurrencies. While Bitcoin is down 3% year-to-date, LINK's price has more than doubled from its June low. The token crossed above its 200-day simple moving average in mid-August and now trades at about $15.31, roughly 62% above the average of $9.45.
