Chainlink Sees Bullish Momentum Amid CCIP 2.0 Upgrade and Growing Institutional Interest
Chainlink's CCIP 2.0 upgrade went live on Monday, adding optional custom security checks to its existing network of 16 independent verifiers.
The launch comes five months after Kelp DAO lost $292 million in a bridge hack tied to rival LayerZero, which relied on a single verifier.
Chainlink's CCIP 2.0 works differently: companies can bring in extra verifiers or hire outside providers like Infosys and Nethermind, with the new checks sitting on top of the required 16-operator quorum.
The upgrade has garnered attention from institutions, with AWS, Google Cloud, and Infosys named as launch partners, although no institution has confirmed using the new optional verifiers yet.
