Chainlink Surges 18%, Outshining Bitcoin Amid Bank Partnerships
Chainlink (LINK) has seen an impressive 18% rise in value this year, outperforming major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and XRP. While Bitcoin has dropped around 3%, Chainlink's price has surged to $14.41 as of October 2, up 80% from its July 4 closing price.
The cryptocurrency's success can be attributed to its partnerships with banks, particularly the recent announcement that its software now connects banks to SWIFT's blockchain ledger. This link to SWIFT, along with Chainlink's partnership with Infosys covering 1.7 billion bank accounts, provides a strong reason for LINK's price increase.
However, it's worth noting that even though banks use Chainlink's software for payments, they don't share transaction fees with LINK holders. This raises questions about the sustainability of Chainlink's price rise and whether its partnerships will drive lasting value for the token.
