Chainlink Taps into Tokenized Finance with Operating System Ambitions
Chainlink is working to become the operating system for tokenized finance by providing data feeds, cross-chain messaging, and settlement tools that banks need to move real securities onchain. The Messari report found that Chainlink powers more than 80% of data feeds and interoperability tools used across real-world asset (RWA) markets.
The operating system for tokenized finance is a base layer that other software runs on, and Chainlink applies this idea to finance by supplying oracle data, cross-chain messaging, and settlement connectivity. By mid-July 2026, Chainlink's tracker showed the network had enabled more than $32 trillion in total transaction value since launch.
Two components sit at the center of Chainlink's strategy: Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) and Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE). CCIP moves tokens and data safely between blockchains, while CRE links legacy financial systems to blockchain applications. DTCC, the world's largest securities clearinghouse, is building CRE into its Collateral AppChain.
