Chainlink Unveils CCIP 2.0 to Streamline Institutional Cross-Chain Transactions
Chainlink has launched CCIP 2.0, a new version of its cross-chain asset control protocol that allows institutions to have more control over assets' flows between chains.
This upgrade is significant as it addresses a key challenge in the growing institutional adoption of tokenized assets and stablecoins.
According to data from RWA.xyz, the value of RWAs secured through CCIP has plummeted by over 50% in just over the past 90 days, indicating that adoption has yet to drive growth.
However, with CCIP 2.0 now live and its SWIFT partnership expanding its reach into TradFi, Chainlink is well-positioned to benefit from growing institutional demand for infrastructure that can connect different blockchains.
The timing of the launch is also notable, as LINK has seen a significant increase in price over the past month, reaching close to $15, and larger holders are already on board with the rally.
