Chainlink has launched CCIP 2.0, a significant upgrade to its cross-chain system that adds new controls for institutional transfers.

The update is designed to give banks and financial firms greater oversight of tokenized asset transactions on the blockchain.

CCIP 2.0 allows asset issuers to operate their own Cross-Chain Verifiers (CCVs), which can add checks before transactions are completed, as well as set verification rules and settlement requirements based on transfer value and risk.

The upgrade integrates Chainlink's Automated Compliance Engine into its cross-chain system, supporting allowlists, sanctions checks, transaction limits, and other requirements before transfers are completed.
