Chainlink's upgraded Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) 2.0 has launched, addressing concerns around cross-chain security after a $292 million exploit at KelpDAO in April.

The upgrade introduces a new structure called Cross-Chain Verifiers (CCVs), which adds an extra layer of checks on transactions before they move across chains.

CCIP 2.0 also expands the Cross-Chain Token standard (CCT) to include self-serve onboarding for token issuers, making integration easier and faster.
