Chainlink's $40 Billion Deal Falls Flat as LINK Drops 4% Despite 1.7B Customer Accounts
Chainlink (LINK) partnered with Infosys on September 22, 2026. The partnership aims to utilize Infosys's banking software, which serves a vast customer base of over 1.7 billion accounts.
Despite the impressive figure, LINK dropped 4.4% after the announcement. This decline was more pronounced than Bitcoin's 2.4% and Ethereum's 2.3% drops.
The lack of key details in the partnership agreement contributed to the drop. The deal does not specify which banks will use Chainlink or hold LINK, nor does it mention a timeline for implementation or fee payments.
LINK has maintained most of its value since August, when it opened at $8 and closed near $11 after a spike on August 21. Despite the current price of $12, the token remains down 43% for the year.
