Chainlink's Blockchain Dividend Solution Shines at Swift Hackathon
At the recent 2026 Swift Hackathon, Chainlink presented an innovative solution to a long-standing problem in tokenized equities. The challenge was to automate a cash dividend for a tokenized stock that spanned four separate blockchains.
The demonstration, which received a corporate-action notice as a Swift ISO 20022 message, used the Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE) to coordinate the process. This included scheduling entitlement snapshots, calculating payouts, and handling reconciliation.
Four pieces worked together in this process: CRE, CCIP, ACE, and Data Feeds. CRE orchestrated the workflow and built one ownership record, while CCIP delivered the stablecoin or tokenized-deposit payment. ACE checked each wallet for identity, sanctions, and eligibility requirements, and Data Feeds supplied the pricing data needed to adjust the reference price once shares went ex-dividend.
Chainlink's dividend solution did not win first place at the hackathon, but it placed runner-up. The company has yet to disclose how often this cutoff scenario occurs or how the system behaves under heavy transfer volume.
