Chainlink's CCIP 2.0 Gives Token Issuers More Control Over Cross-Chain Transfers

Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) has been updated to version 2.0, giving token issuers more control over cross-chain transfers.

The update introduces Cross-Chain Verifiers, new token-pool functions, and configurable finality settings. This allows token issuers to require additional checks before a transfer is approved and completed.

CCIP 2.0 gives issuers the flexibility to set their own verification rules, using different security and finality settings for each asset. This shift in control means that users need to assess the specific token route, rather than just relying on the bridge brand.
