ChatGPT Enables Direct Crypto Spending, But Raises Concerns Over Transaction Safety
ChatGPT has taken another step forward in its development, allowing users to spend cryptocurrency directly through the platform. This is made possible by MoonPay's PayBox tool, which plugs into ChatGPT and enables users to move money on their behalf without needing to explain how a swap works or walk them through connecting a wallet.
This isn't just a demo - it's becoming a part of the infrastructure people are already using. Mastercard ran the first true agentic transaction in early 2025, Coinbase's AgentKit has been giving bots their own wallets since late 2024, and Stripe enabled agents to spend stablecoins on Base earlier this year.
However, there's a catch - crypto doesn't have an undo button. If something goes haywire, users are on their own with no customer support to walk them through the process. This is why CandyChain is building AI you can trust with crypto, introducing its CandyAgents that will sit on top of the ecosystem and make it easier to use.
CandyAgents aren't like MoonPay's PayBox - they're being built natively into CandyChain itself, running on the same chain as the rest of the ecosystem. This means no extra company or middle layer is standing between the agent and the chain it's acting on.
