Chelsea Unloads Chalobah to Como for €30M Plus Add-ons in Crypto-Sponsored Transfer

Share

Chelsea FC has parted ways with defender Trevoh Chalobah, selling him to Italian Serie A club Como 1907 for a base fee of €30 million plus add-ons. The transfer was finalized in late July to early August 2026 after weeks of negotiations.

Como's initial bids ranged between €23 million and €28 million, but the club eventually met Chelsea's asking price. Chalobah's departure caps off a busy period for Chelsea, which has been selling fringe players to fund new acquisitions.

The deal marks a significant statement signing for Como as it pursues mid-table stability in Serie A. The Italian side is backed by Indonesian billionaire investors and counts former players Cesc Fàbregas and Thierry Henry among its minority ownership group.

Crypto exchanges have been making waves in the football world, with Chelsea maintaining an active sponsorship with crypto exchange BingX since January 2024. The partnership was extended in June 2026, making it one of the longer-running crypto-football sponsorships in the Premier League.
