Beijing police have cracked a cross-border telecom scam case involving a group that impersonated law enforcement officials to trick international students into transferring money in exchange for cryptocurrency. The scammers, targeting students, used U tokens as bait.

The operation, which took place across borders, was shut down after authorities froze 780,000 yuan (approximately $114,000 USD) worth of assets linked to the case.
