China's Central Bank Committee Calls for Coordinated Monetary Policy Measures
China's Central Bank Committee has recommended coordinating new and existing policy measures to adapt to changing economic conditions. At a meeting on September 19, the committee reviewed China's main monetary-policy approach for the next stage. The committee emphasized that policy should remain forward-looking, flexible, and targeted.
The meeting called for adjusting implementation according to domestic and global economic and financial conditions, as well as developments in financial markets. To keep liquidity ample, the committee recommended using and adjusting monetary-policy tools when appropriate.
The committee also emphasized the need for growth in aggregate social financing and the money supply to align with economic growth and expected targets for the overall price level. Additionally, it called for reform and improvement of China's monetary-policy operating framework.
