Chinese manufacturers are revolutionizing the humanoid robot market by offering high-tech models at surprisingly affordable prices. Unitree Robotics' R1 model, launched in July 2025, retails for approximately $5,900, a significant drop from its predecessors which cost between $13,500 and $16,000.

According to reports, over 90% of the core components used in these robots are sourced domestically, removing the premium associated with importing precision parts. This localized supply chain is a key factor contributing to the lower prices.

The R1 boasts impressive features, including 26 joints and multimodal AI capabilities that allow it to process visual, audio, and text inputs simultaneously. Noetix Robotics' Bumi model, priced at around $1,380, has also gained traction in the market.

Unitree and AGIBot are leading the pack, with both companies shipping over 5,000 units in 2025 alone. The majority of these robots were sold to developers, researchers, and educators rather than households, indicating that the primary target audience is still industrial and educational institutions.
