Liquid Hackers Pledge to Return Most of Stolen BTC After Bug Fix
The Liquid Network security incident has taken an unexpected turn as the 'purported' white-hat hackers behind the roughly $320 million heist are willing to return 'most' of the nearly 4,000 BTC they withdrew.
A makeshift communication channel was established through Bitcoin OP_RETURN messages and PGP-encrypted text between the unidentified actors and Blockstream, according to Galaxy Research head Alex Thorn.
The hackers declared that they would not return the Bitcoin until the vulnerability had been fixed across the network, stating 'Please fix the bug first.'
