Circle and Volante Technologies Partner to Integrate USDC into Banking Rails
Circle has formed a significant partnership with Volante Technologies to integrate its USDC stablecoin into the cloud payments platform, Volante Payments as a Service. This move will enable banks to easily mint, redeem, and settle USDC wallets from within existing banking rails.
The integration of USDC into Volante's platform will allow institutions that already use Volante for messaging and funds settlements to reduce currency conversion costs, operational risk, and unlock new merchant payments and treasury functions. This includes venues for corporate disbursements, B2B collections, and sovereign remittances.
US banks, payment service providers, and regional banks with a footprint in Volante will be able to embed USDC into some of the most active cross-border flows in the world. The partnership has significant implications for multiple stakeholders, including institutions and treasuries that can reduce counterparty and operational risk by leaving transactions inside regulated infrastructure.
Developers and ecosystems supporting USDC will establish a direct pathway for enterprise volume settlement on-chain, while exchanges and custodians may see increased treasury management and off-ramp demand as clients access 24/7 settlement. Circle's announcement is consistent with broader payments modernization efforts, including FedNow and The Clearing House RTP.
