Circle, the issuer of USD Coin (USDC), has signed two significant partnership agreements in South Korea. The first agreement is with Kakao Group, a consumer services provider that operates several widely used platforms, including KakaoTalk and KakaoBank.

The partnership with Kakao Group aims to explore blockchain-based payment infrastructure in the country. This move follows Circle's previous agreements with Upbit and Bithumb, which are the two largest cryptocurrency exchanges in South Korea, accounting for more than 95% of daily crypto trading volume in the country.

Circle has also partnered with Toss Bank, an internet-only lender that has been expanding its presence in the cryptocurrency sector. The partnership with Toss Bank focuses on assessing opportunities for stablecoin-based payments. This agreement is part of Circle's broader efforts to promote and adopt USDC in South Korea.
