Circle Brings Native USDC and CCTP to OKX's X Layer
Circle has expanded its stablecoin offerings by launching native USDC and Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) on OKX's X Layer. This integration brings regulated stablecoin infrastructure to the EVM-compatible Layer-2 blockchain, providing a secure and trusted way for developers, businesses, and over 120 million OKX users to access USDC.
The launch strengthens X Layer's role in payments, decentralized finance (DeFi), AI-driven applications, and institutional blockchain solutions by providing trusted dollar-denominated liquidity. Native USDC offers direct redemption and company infrastructure compatibility, which was previously lacking with bridged versions of the stablecoin.
Circle has introduced its Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol via the layer, enabling the native transfer of USDC tokens between over 25 supported blockchains. Unlike typical bridges, CCTP burns tokens from the source blockchain and creates an equal amount of USDC tokens on the destination blockchain.
