Circle Brings USDC and EURC to Layer-1 Blockchain Plasma
Circle has deployed its USDC and EURC stablecoins natively on the Layer-1 blockchain Plasma. This integration brings support for the Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) and Bridge Kit, broadening Plasma's utility across payments, decentralized finance (DeFi), and treasury management.
USDC and EURC are each redeemable 1:1 for US dollars and euros, respectively, and comply with regulatory frameworks including the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation. Institutional users can access fiat-to-digital asset on-ramp and off-ramp services through Plasma, while developers can integrate USDC and EURC directly into their applications.
Since launching its mainnet beta in September 2025, Plasma has established itself as a high-throughput network optimized for stablecoin use cases. At launch, it reported $2 billion in total value locked (approximately 2.7 trillion won) and over 100 DeFi integrations. The network leverages PlasmaBFT, its proprietary consensus algorithm, to deliver sub-second transaction finality.
