Circle CFO Jeremy Fox-Geen to Depart Amid $1.2B IPO Success
Circle Internet Group, the company behind the USDC stablecoin, has announced that its Chief Financial Officer, Jeremy Fox-Geen, will step down by year-end. The news comes as a surprise to many in the crypto space, especially given Fox-Geen's significant contributions to Circle's success over the past five years.
Fox-Geen joined Circle in May 2021 and played a crucial role in guiding the firm through its $1.2 billion IPO on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker CRCL. His departure is expected by December 31, 2026, or when his successor is formally appointed, whichever comes first.
The CFO will remain in his seat until his replacement is found and has been engaged a leading executive search firm to identify his successor. Fox-Geen's separation agreement includes a conditional cash payment of $1.05 million, which is in addition to his base salary of $500,000 per year.
Circle's co-founder and board director, P. Sean Neville, has also stepped down from the board, citing personal reasons. His departure brings Circle's board size down to seven directors. Fox-Geen framed his decision to leave as intentional, stating that it feels right after achieving several key milestones.
