Circle Dominates Tokenized Equity Market with $306M in Deployments
Circle Internet Group's tokenized stock deployments have reached $306 million in combined market cap, making it the leader in the growing tokenized equity market. This milestone comes after Circle went public on the New York Stock Exchange and its shares were immediately tokenized.
The entire tokenized equities market was worth just $20 million in late 2024 but has since grown to an all-time high of $3.1 billion by early September 2026, a staggering increase of over 15,000%. Three tokenized Circle share products are driving this growth: CRCLon from Ondo Finance, CRCLB tied to Binance, and CRCLx from Backed Finance.
The regulatory event that accelerated this activity was a U.S. SEC order that took effect on September 17, 2026, creating a conditional framework for trading tokenized U.S. stocks until 2031. This gave platforms and issuers a five-year window of regulatory visibility to build around. Circle's shares rose roughly 5.7% to $85.03 following the announcement.
Circle occupies a unique intersection: it is a publicly traded firm with a core business in digital dollar infrastructure, attracting both traditional equity buyers and crypto-native capital allocators. Institutional interest in real-world asset tokenization has been building for several years, extending the logic of putting tradable value onchain to assets carrying equity risk.
