Circle Expands Patent Portfolio and Stablecoin Reach in Asia

Circle, the issuer of the USDC stablecoin, has made significant moves in recent days. The company acquired over 1,000 patents from IBM's blockchain patent portfolio, covering more than 680 patent families.

In another development, Circle has formed partnerships with Kakao Group and Toss Bank in South Korea to explore stablecoin payment infrastructure. This move is part of Circle's efforts to expand its presence in the Asian market.
