Circle-LuLuFin Partnership Cuts Cross-Border Settlement Costs by Up to 30%
Circle's partnership with LuLu Financial Holdings (LFH) has led to significant improvements in cross-border settlement costs and speed. According to a recent announcement, LFH has reduced its cross-border settlement costs by 25% to 30% after adopting Circle's USDC stablecoin and Circle Mint for remittance flows across the GCC, MENA, and APAC regions.
The partnership between Circle and LuLuFin aims to remove the hassle of time zones in traditional banking systems. By using a digital version of the US dollar, LFH can settle flows around the clock, allowing partner firms to receive USDC, retain it for upcoming payouts, or convert it to local fiat currency through supported rails.
The use of Circle Mint and USDC has resulted in measurable operational gains for LuLuFin. Settlement costs have declined by 25% to 30%, settlement volume has increased by 40%, and beneficiaries receive credit in under one minute after settlement finishes.
