Circle Secures Dual Regulatory Approvals, Bolstering USDC
Circle has secured a New York trust charter from the NYDFS, allowing it to operate as Circle New York Trust under state banking law.
The charter will enable Circle to offer fiduciary and digital asset custody services to clients, reflecting more than a decade of regulatory commitment.
This move comes on top of the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency's approval for Circle to establish a national trust bank earlier in July 2026.
The combined approvals create an interlocking regulatory structure that few stablecoin issuers can match, positioning USDC within a formally supervised framework as digital dollars gain broader relevance in global finance.
