Circle Stock Set to Face Reality Check as Earnings Loom
Circle Internet Group's stock price has been consolidating since late June within the support and resistance levels of $58 and $73. The company is set to publish its earnings report this week, which may test this consolidation.
The stablecoin industry has largely stalled, with the USD Coin (USDC) supply in free fall. From a record high of nearly $80 billion, it has dropped to $71.8 billion, its lowest level since February this year. This decline is a major issue for Circle as its business generates revenue when the USDC supply is growing and short-term government bond yields are rising.
The options market indicates an implied volatility of 130%, much higher than the historical volatility of 91.7%. Analysts expect the company's revenue to have jumped by just 8.45% in the second quarter to $713 million, with earnings-per-share expected to move to 16 cents.
