Circle Surges 6.5% as Analyst Upgrade Meets SEC Regulatory Boost

Share

Circle Internet's stock has surged 6.5% in morning trading, reaching $90.64, as analyst TD Cowen and a regulatory development from the SEC converged to boost investor confidence.

The company's shares are trading well above their session open of $87.46 and have touched a day high of $91.09, reflecting sustained buying pressure.

TD Cowen analyst Bryan Bergin raised his price target on the shares to $92 from $87 while maintaining a Buy rating, citing three interlocking catalysts: the Arc blockchain mainnet launch, the Federal Reserve's 25-basis-point interest rate hike to a range of 3.75%-4.00%, and the Senate's failure to advance the CLARITY Act.

Bergin argued that the Fed hike directly boosts Circle's near-term financials, since the company earns income on the Treasury and cash assets backing its stablecoin, meaning higher short-term rates translate into higher reserve revenue.
