Circle's Revenue Falls Short as Crypto Markets Continue Downward Spiral
Circle Internet Group Inc., the company behind popular stablecoin USDC, reported its second-quarter earnings on Wednesday. The results revealed that revenue missed Wall Street expectations as cryptocurrency markets continued to struggle. Revenue increased by 7% year-over-year to $701 million, falling short of the $712 million average forecast from analysts surveyed by Bloomberg.
The decline in revenue can be attributed to a decrease in circulation of USDC amid the protracted slide in cryptocurrency markets. Despite this, net income was higher than expected at $48 million, exceeding the $43 million forecast by analysts.
